Landscape professionals and their clients have become aware of the benefits of including native plants in their landscapes. The importance of incorporating ecological processes, factors that often determine the success or failure of plants in the wild, is far less understood. In this session we will explore how incorporating natural processes like disturbance, succession, competition, pollination, and colonization can help designers and contractors consistently establish the ecology-based landscapes that their clients increasingly seek.
