Position Title: Senior City Planner/Associate City Planner

Position Description:
The City of Rochester, NY is seeking a Senior City Planner/Associate City Planner to work in the Office of City Planning within the Office of the Mayor. The Office of City Planning leads implementation of the City's Rochester2034 Comprehensive Plan. This position will be responsible for overseeing citywide and neighborhood planning projects, including coordination with other City departments and community stakeholders. In addition to being a project manager, the person in this title performs analyses of major development projects, provides input to policy and program planning, and is involved in community engagement activities. A Senior City Planner or Associate City Planner coordinates various research projects and analyses, often using Geographic Information Systems and other tools. The position oversees processes to ensure compliance with the Comprehensive Plan and with county, state, and federal legislation. Senior City Planners and Associate City Planners lead other planners and collaborate extensively with other City staff to accomplish assigned tasks.
