David M Cutter Elevated to the Council of Fellows

We are pleased to share the announcement that NY Upstate Chapter Member David Cutter, ASLA has been elevated to the Council of Fellows.

Fellowship is among the highest honors the ASLA bestows on members and recognizes the contributions of these individuals to their profession and society at large based on their works, leadership and management, knowledge, and service. The designation of Fellow is conferred on individuals in recognition of exceptional accomplishments over a sustained period of time.

David was recognized for his service to the society and advocate for the profession of Landscape Architecture. David has raised awareness of the profession of Landscape Architecture through his work with diverse professionals and organizations. Through his career he has gained a reputation for consistently increasing awareness among allied professions, government officials, and the general public of the broad leadership abilities and value of Landscape Architects. The influence of David’s leadership on a national level is evident through his service as the National Vice President of Education, multiple national ASLA committees, and as a 2019 President-Elect candidate for the society. In 2019 he was nationally honored with an ASLA Outstanding Service Award.  David continues to serve as role model to many in our region, sharing his expertise at events, providing mentorship to students, and facilitating LARE and SITES study groups.

This is a tremendous honor and we are pleased that ASLA has recognized the significance of David’s contributions to the Chapter and Society.  The profiles for the 2020 Class of Fellow can be found here.

I would like to thank Fellow Nominating Chair, Michael Haas and the Nominating Committee (Joy Kuebler and Richard Powell) for the support they provided David through the nomination and application process.  Great work team!
