Hello fellow Landscape Architects and happy holiday season! As we come to a close on 2022 and start welcoming 2023, the future is bright. Our Chapter continues to thrive due to our members and dedicated volunteers, and we thank you for that.
We will continue having discussions revolving around diversity, equity, and inclusion, community resilience, and people centric planning and design; as well as other important topics in and around our field. Our Chapter will be working to hear more from you all over the next year related to our NY Upstate ASLA community as well as student and member engagement.
We completed a day and a half planning retreat earlier this month with our Chapter’s members, volunteers and students. We plan to share our discussion topics and draft calendar for the 2023 year as part of the January newsletter. We are looking forward to an in-person awards celebration in March and getting together by sections throughout the year. In the meantime, we hope you have a wonderful holiday season with your family and friends!
Sincerely,
Nicole Cleary, NY Upstate ASLA Chapter President
